What is JBA?
JBA (the former NAB), the Japan Commercial Broadcasters Association (JBA), is a general incorporated association whose membership consists of 207 commercial broadcasters in Japan. It was established as a voluntary organization on July 20 in 1951 by 16 commercial radio companies, and was approved by Radio Regulatory Commission (independent administrative authority which existed 1950-52) to become a non-profit incorporated association on April 21 in 1952. On April 1, 2012, NAB shifted to JBA. Its membership now comprises of broadcasters that provide fundamental radio and television services.
